Tua Tagovailoa Posts A Dud In Season Finale

Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa finished out the regular season in disappointing fashion as he posted his fifth QB2 performance in a row on Sunday night. He finished the game against the Buffalo Bills with 173 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions while completing 17 of his 27 pass attempts. With Jaylen Waddle (ankle) missing this game, Tagovailoa targeted Tyreek Hill 13 times and didn't look another pass-catcher's way more than three times. So, it allowed the Bills to focus on one side of the field and it forced Tagovailoa into a couple of turnovers. With that being said, he did finish in QB1 territory for the season, but he didn't do much to increase his draft stock in fantasy drafts next season.

De'Von Achane Scores In Season Finale

Miami Dolphins running back De'Von Achane had full control of the backfield once again with Raheem Mostert (knee/ankle) missing another game. He didn't turn that into an explosive performance like he did against the Baltimore Ravens, but he was able to finish as a mid-level RB2. The rookie finished with 56 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries and caught his lone target for five yards. The Dolphins offense was bottled up for most of this game as they delivered a disappointing performance and lost the second seed in the process. Achane will likely be a higher pick in next year's fantasy drafts after showing a great explosive ability on the ground and collecting five finishes of RB8 or higher.

Jaylen Waddle Sidelined Again On Sunday

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jaylen Waddle (ankle) won't play in Sunday's meeting with the Buffalo Bills. The wideout has battled a high-ankle sprain since the Week 16 matchup with the Dallas Cowboys. Although it appeared he had a slight chance to return, he'll miss his second straight game. Without Waddle on the field, Cedrick Wilson Jr., who had a touchdown in the loss to Baltimore, could see more attention from Tua Tagovailoa. Of course, Tyreek Hill should see most of the targets, with De'Von Achane also expected to get more involved on the receiving end, especially since Raheem Mostert (ankle, knee) won't suit up.

Raheem Mostert Officially Inactive On Sunday Night

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Miami Dolphins running back Raheem Mostert (knee, ankle) won't play in Sunday's AFC East title game versus the Buffalo Bills. The 31-year-old logged a limited practice session on Friday after sitting out on Wednesday and Thursday. However, despite a questionable designation, he'll miss his second consecutive contest. Mostert has been a top fantasy producer all year. But without him, De'Von Achane will nearly monopolize the backfield work in Week 18. Achane looked great in the Week 17 blowout loss to the Ravens, accruing 107 yards off 14 carries and adding four catches for 30 yards and a touchdown. Keep the rookie starting in all fantasy lineups.

Jaylen Waddle Not Expected To Play In Week 18

According to NFL Media's Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport, Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jaylen Waddle (ankle) is unlikely to play in Sunday night's encounter with the Buffalo Bills. The wideout has battled a high-ankle sprain since the Week 16 meeting with the Dallas Cowboys. He didn't suit up for the blowout loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 17, opening the door for Cedrick Wilson Jr. to score his third touchdown of the campaign. Of course, Tyreek Hill (ankle), who was removed from the injury report, should remain the top option for Tua Tagovailoa, considering he drew 12 targets in Week 17. But there's also room for Durham Smythe to see a few extra looks from his signal-caller, with De'Von Achane also anticipated to get more targets out of the backfield.
