An MRI exam will be done Monday to confirm that Los Angeles Rams tight end Tyler Higbee (knee) tore his right ACL on an ugly-looking hit by Detroit Lions safety Kerby Joseph in the fourth quarter of Sunday night's wild-card game. If the 31-year-old indeed has a torn ACL in his knee, he probably won't end up being ready for the start of the 2024 season this fall. Higbee remains under contract with the Rams for next season, but rookie Davis Allen could open the year as the team's primary pass-catching tight end if Higbee is still rehabbing his knee injury. In 15 regular season games in 2023, Higbee was a low-end TE1/high-end TE2 for fantasy managers and finished with 47 receptions for 495 yards and only two touchdowns on 70 targets.
Los Angeles Rams tight end Tyler Higbee (shoulder) is officially good to go for Sunday's postseason clash with the Detroit Lions. The veteran dislocated his shoulder in Week 17 and didn't suit up for the season finale versus the San Francisco 49ers. There were some doubts he would be available. But he logged three limited practice sessions ahead of this one, so he's healthy enough to get on the field. Without question, the injury could severely impact Higbee's play on the field. However, his DFS rostering cost on Sunday is a bargain, meaning he deserves consideration from those looking for a value opportunity.
Los Angeles Rams tight end Tyler Higbee (shoulder) will be listed as questionable for the team's wild-card contest on Sunday night versus the Detroit Lions, according to head coach Sean McVay. Despite dislocating his left shoulder in Week 17 and sitting out the meaningless Week 18 regular season finale against the San Francisco 49ers, Higbee should be fine to suit up on Sunday night after putting in limited practices this week. Still, the 31-year-old could be limited in what he can do if he's indeed active on wild-card weekend, making him a risky lower-priced DFS option for the weekend slate of six games. If Higbee is limited at all, rookie Davis Allen and Brycen Hopkins could see more snaps on offense. Higbee was a touchdown-dependent, low-end TE1, at best, during the regular season and finished with 47 catches, 495 yards and just two touchdowns on 70 targets.
Los Angeles Rams tight end Tyler Higbee (shoulder) was limited in the team's practice on Thursday for the second straight day this week. Higbee dislocated his left shoulder in Week 17 and didn't play in the Week 18 regular season finale against the San Francisco 49ers. The 31-year-old is giving himself a shot to be active for Sunday night's wild-card playoff game against the Detroit Lions, but it doesn't mean the Rams won't label him as questionable on Friday's final report. Even if Higbee gets cleared to play on wild-card weekend, it's tough to recommend him to for DFS lineups despite a good matchup for the TE position against Detroit's defense. At best, he'll be a low-upside, touchdown-dependent tight end for fantasy managers. Rookie Davis Allen and Brycen Hopkins would share TE duties if Higbee ultimately is ruled out.
Los Angeles Rams tight end Tyler Higbee (shoulder) was listed as a limited practice participant on Wednesday. A dislocated left shoulder that Higbee suffered in Week 17 kept him out of practice all of last week and for the Week 18 regular season finale against the San Francisco 49ers. The fact that he's practicing at all in the first session of the week is good news, but the 31-year-old veteran tight end might have to show more to be cleared to play in Sunday's wild-card tilt against the Detroit Lions. If he cannot play this weekend, rookie Davis Allen and Brycen Hopkins would share snaps at the tight end position. If Higbee plays, he'll be a risky DFS play coming off a pretty serious injury, even at his $3,400 price tag on Draft Kings, even in a favorable matchup against Detroit's defense.
