Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins (hamstring) is officially inactive for the Week 1 regular-season opener on Sunday versus the New England Patriots. Higgins injured his hamstring in practice on Thursday and was listed as doubtful on Friday's final Week 1 injury report, so fantasy managers should have already moved him to their benches for the week. The good news for Cincy is that WR1 Ja'Marr Chase is active on Sunday after holding in for all of training camp and the preseason. Chase is expected to be on a pitch count, meaning receivers Andrei Iosivas and Trenton Irwin and tight end Mike Gesicki could be more involved than usual in the season opener with Higgins also out. Higgins, who was a big fantasy disappointment last year, is not off to a good start in 2024, and it remains to be seen if he'll be available for a Week 2 showdown against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins (hamstring) is officially listed as doubtful for the team's season opener on Sunday. Higgins tweaked his hamstring during Thursday's practice and missed practice on Friday, despite saying he felt "amazing" on Thursday. Higgins has a lengthy history of hamstring issues and it now appears that he'll miss his first game of 2024. Fellow wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase is listed as questionable due to ongoing contract disputes. Andrei Iosivas is in line for more playing time and could be the team's de-facto top wide receiver against the Patriots if Higgins and Chase don't suit up.
Updating a previous report, Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins (hamstring) tweaked his hamstring at practice on Thursday, according to head coach Zac Taylor. The head coach said "we'll see" in terms of Higgins' availability for Week 1 on Sunday against the New England Patriots. Higgins wasn't seen at the portion of practice open to the media on Friday and he's now trending toward a questionable tag on the final injury report. With Ja'Marr Chase (holdout) claiming himself a game-time decision for the season opener, too, it's possible the Bengals could be without both of their top two receivers this weekend. Chase and Higgins should be in fantasy lineups if they are active, but their Week 1 stock is trending down. If one or both of them are inactive against the Pats, it will open the door for much bigger roles for receiver Andrei Iosivas and tight end Mike Gesicki, among others. Stay tuned.
Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase was spotted at practice on Friday ahead of the team's Week 1 matchup against the New England Patriots. Despite his lengthy training camp hold-in, Chase appears on track to play Sunday. However, Tee Higgins showed up on the injury report on Thursday with a hamstring injury. After being a limited participant on Thursday, Higgins wasn't out on the field at the start of Friday's practice. Going from a limited participant to a non-participant this late in the week likely means he won't play on Sunday. Jermaine Burton and Andrei Iosivas would benefit if Higgins misses Sunday's contest.
Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins (hamstring) was added to the Week 1 injury report on Thursday and was listed as a limited participant due to a hamstring injury. Higgins practiced in full on Wednesday, and while this could raise eyebrows for some, Higgins has assured us he'll be good to go for Week 1 of the regular season on Sunday versus the New England Patriots. "Ready to put on a show for the fans," Higgins said. It doesn't sound like anything that will slow the 25-year-old down to open up the 2024 campaign, and with Ja'Marr Chase potentially being limited due to his lengthy contract holdout all offseason, there's a strong chance that Higgins ends up being the most targeted pass-catcher in Cincy by quarterback Joe Burrow early on. Higgins remains in the shadow of Chase in fantasy, but he has solid WR2 fantasy appeal in Week 1 in a game the Bengals are favored by more than a touchdown.
