Pittsburgh Steelers running back Najee Harris turned 19 carries into 114 yards and four targets into three receptions for 17 yards in a Week 8 victory over the New York Giants. Harris looked superb on Monday night and set the tone for Pittsburgh early with nearly 60 rushing yards in the first quarter alone. He continued splitting opportunities with Jaylen Warren, but the Steelers have no reason to go away from Harris when he runs this efficiently. After a quiet start to the campaign, the 26-year-old now ranks sixth in the NFL in rushing yards and is the fantasy RB7 since Week 6. Harris and the 6-2 Steelers will now head into a Week 9 bye with a matchup against the Washington Commanders awaiting in Week 10.
Pittsburgh Steelers running back Najee Harris got off to a slow start this season but has turned in two consecutive 100-yard performances with a touchdown. He should have a good shot of continuing this productive stretch against the New York Giants in Week 8. The Giants have given up the eighth-most rushing yards per game in 2024 and were carved up for 269 yards on the ground by Saquon Barkley and the Eagles in Week 7. Pittsburgh's defense has been elite and will likely make things difficult for New York's offense on Monday night. The Steelers should be expected to lean on the running game led by Harris with Jaylen Warren mixing in. Harris arguably looks the best he ever has through four years in the NFL and should be fired up as a solid fantasy RB2 in this matchup.
Pittsburgh Steelers running back Najee Harris handled 21 carries for 102 yards and a touchdown in a 37-15 win against the New York Jets. He failed to haul in his only target of the contest, but Harris was nonetheless productive and efficient on the ground. Although he ran hard throughout the game, he did not find the end zone until only 26 seconds remained in the fourth quarter, rumbling in for a 10-yard score to seal the victory. After a slow start to the campaign, Harris has looked great over the past two weeks. Additional goal-line opportunities could be in store for him going forward as Pittsburgh's offense seems more capable of pushing the ball downfield with quarterback Russell Wilson under center. Harris should project as a solid fantasy RB2 next week against the New York Giants.
Pittsburgh Steelers running back Najee Harris was outstanding in Week 6 and will look to carry some positive momentum into a Sunday night showdown with the New York Jets. Harris missed practice on Wednesday due to a rib injury but will not carry a designation into the weekend after participating in full on Thursday and Friday. Although the Jets have been solid against fantasy running backs this season, Bills rookie Ray Davis found success against them last week with 152 total yards. The Steelers are yet to officially announce their starting quarterback but Harris figures to get plenty of opportunities regardless. If Russell Wilson gets the nod, however, Harris could see additional carries near the goal line that he previously ceded to Justin Fields. For the time being, fantasy managers should continue to view Harris as a volume-based RB2 with a solid floor in most contests.
After missing the first practice session of the week on Wednesday, Pittsburgh Steelers running back Najee Harris (ribs) looked fine in his return to practice on Thursday due to a rib issue. With Harris returning to practice on Thursday, he should be on track to suit up for Sunday night's showdown against the visiting New York Jets. The 26-year-old has had more of the backfield to himself this year with Jaylen Warren missing a few games with a knee injury, although mobile quarterback Justin Fields has taken away valuable red-zone opportunities on the ground. The expected move to Russell Wilson under center this weekend should be a good thing for Harris' fantasy upside, although the Steelers could mix in Fields in packages as a runner. Until we have a better read on the situation, treat Harris as a low-end RB2/high-end RB3/flex against the Jets.UPDATE: Harris practiced in full on Thursday.
