Quez Watkins Leads Eagles In Receiving, Scores In Week 18

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Quez Watkins caught eight of 11 targets for 93 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 10-27 blowout loss to the New York Giants. Philadelphia's offense was stagnant as ever, with DeVonta Smith (ankle) and D'Andre Swift (illness) ruled out to start the contest, but things got even worse when A.J. Brown (knee) went down early in the game. Jalen Hurts (finger) left after the score became out of reach, leaving Watkins the top target for backup Marcus Mariota. The 25-year-old put up solid numbers and scored the only touchdown of the game for Philadelphia. The status of Brown and Smith is entirely unknown at this point, so fantasy managers should keep an eye on Watkins heading into the Wild Card round of the playoffs.

The Bears Have Not Come To A Decision On Justin Fields' Future

Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields has an uncertain future with the team, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. The Bears via their trade with the Carolina Panthers have the number one pick in the upcoming NFL draft. Per Rapoport, the team will evaluate the incoming QB class as part of their draft process. This has been a major talking point amongst league circles for the last few months as it became more and more clear that Chicago would capture the number one pick. Fields, for his part, has elevated his play significantly over the last six weeks but his future as the Bears' starting quarterback is not guaranteed. Rapoport also mentioned that Chicago has financial considerations as they could trade Fields, instead of extending him, and pay another potential franchise rookie QB less money. Either way, this solution to this issue won't likely play out until the NFL draft. It's sure to be a hot topic throughout the NFL offseason

Pat Freiermuth Gains 21 Yards In Week 18 Victory

Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth hauled in both of his targets for 21 yards in a 17-10 win over the Baltimore Ravens. With weather conditions forcing both teams to rely on short routes, Freiermuth's 13-yard gain in the second quarter was the second-longest passing play for Pittsburgh on Saturday. Although it's been a tumultuous year for the Steelers' offense as a whole, it's certainly fair to describe Freiermuth's third professional campaign as underwhelming. He'll conclude the regular season with just 32 receptions for 308 yards and two touchdowns in 12 games played. Freiermuth will hope to make an impact in the AFC playoffs, but Pittsburgh will need a few things to go its way to sneak in.

George Pickens Disappears In Win Over Ravens

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver George Pickens gained three yards on his lone rush attempt of a Week 18 victory against the Baltimore Ravens. The second-year pro, who had emerged as the favorite weapon of quarterback Mason Rudolph over the past two weeks, was surprisingly not targeted in the contest. While this sudden disappearance could not have been predicted, it shouldn't come as a complete shock that Pickens failed to make an impact on Saturday. The 22-year-old primarily operates as a downfield threat and many of the Steelers' plays developed close to the line of scrimmage due to the sloppy weather conditions in Baltimore. Pickens can only hope for another opportunity to shine in the playoffs with Pittsburgh's postseason fate currently undetermined.

Jaylen Warren Catches Five Passes In Week 18

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Jaylen Warren finished with nine carries for 33 yards and five receptions for 17 yards on five targets in the team's 17-10 victory over the Baltimore Ravens. Rainy weather conditions in Baltimore caused issues with ball security throughout the contest, and Warren himself fumbled twice with one resulting in a turnover. The second-year pro took a backseat to Najee Harris, who rushed for over 100 yards and found the end zone. Both backs were utilized through the air as Pittsburgh's offense largely operated close to the line of scrimmage. Warren's production was a surprise for fantasy managers this season, and his strong campaign could continue if the Steelers sneak into the playoffs.
