Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Justin Fields (hamstring) will test out his hamstring during pre-game and remains questionable for Monday's game against the Giants. Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network noted that if there are any issues with Fields, the team may opt to lean on the side of caution with the bye week coming up. Fantasy managers should expect Fields to serve as the No.2 option behind Russell Wilson if he is able to suit up. During his six starts this season, Fields averaged a solid 21.4 PPR points per game due to his elite rushing upside. Last weekend, Wilson looked quite sharp in his 2024 debut as he threw for 264 yards and two scores against the Jets. Wilson should be viewed as a QB2 this evening and a solid flex option in DFS facing the Giants who have the 20th-most points to opposing quarterbacks this season.
Pittsburgh Steelers running back Cordarrelle Patterson (ankle) has been ruled out ahead of the Week 8 matchup against the New York Giants. The veteran back has been limited in practice all week and now will miss his fourth straight game. His absence won't mean too much with Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren both healthy heading into Monday's game. Patterson probably won't see much of the field as a runner once he's back to full health anyway.
Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Justin Fields (hamstring) has been added to the injury report ahead of Monday's game against the New York Giants. This is not good news with Fields suffering an injury only a day before gameday. His absence shouldn't make much of an impact given the fact that Russell Wilson has taken over the starting gig in Pittsburgh. The absence of Fields means that Kyle Allen will likely be promoted to the second string for Monday's Week 8 contest.
New York Jets wide receiver Mike Williams could see some more snaps on Sunday versus the Patriots. With Allen Lazard (chest) doubtful, the former Charger may serve as the No. 3 wideout on the depth chart behind Davante Adams and Garrett Wilson. Williams tenure with the Jets hasn't been productive, amassing only 11 catches (19 targets) for 160 yards. There's been talk he'll be traded at some point. But for now, it appears he'll remain a Jet and may get some attention from Aaron Rodgers in Week 8. However, Williams is far from a starting-caliber fantasy option.
