De'Von Achane A Non-Factor Against Chiefs

Miami Dolphins running back De'Von Achane wasn't able to break off any huge plays in the wild-card loss on Saturday night like he has throughout the regular season. The rookie back capped off his first season with a sub-par performance after registering nine yards on six carries and hauling in three of his six targets for 21 yards. His longest play of the night was an 11-yard catch-and-run where he showed off some elusiveness but ultimately wasn't able to find much room. After taking a backseat to Raheem Mostert for most of the season, Achane quickly became one of the hottest waiver-wire additions after displaying astounding explosiveness. He played his way into a lead role until he got hurt, so he'll likely receive more opportunities as the lead back next year. He'll probably be a higher fantasy draft pick next season than his counterpart in the backfield.

Raheem Mostert Bottled Up In Wild-Card Loss

Miami Dolphins running back Raheem Mostert ran out of magic in the wild-card loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday night. In one of the coldest games in NFL history, Mostert collected 33 yards on eight carries and caught one of two targets for negative three yards. The 31-year-old posted the best season of his career after posting his first-ever 1,000 yard rushing campaign and 18 touchdowns on the ground which was the most out of anyone this year. He also was tied with Christian McCaffrey for the most rushing and receiving touchdowns combined with 21. While he had an amazing year, he started to slow down toward the end of the season and it will be difficult to replicate these results next year. On top of that, De'Von Achane will likely get a bigger chunk of opportunities, so he may not be worth a high draft pick in fantasy drafts next year at the age of 32.

Tyreek Hill Caps Off Season With Another Touchdown

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill put together a fantastic season that saw him on track to break 2,000 receiving yards at one point. In their wild-card loss to his former team, Hill was the only player to find the end zone when he caught a 53-yard touchdown pass at the beginning of the second quarter. He finished the game with 62 yards and a score while catching five of his eight targets. In the subzero temperatures, the Dolphins' offense would go on to struggle for the rest of the game and didn't score a single point after that. After such a successful season and the way this offense has been built, Hill should be another top selection in next year's fantasy drafts. He could even remain a first-round selection despite entering his age-30 season.

Tua Tagovailoa Remains Confident After Loss To Chiefs

Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa isn't worried about a contract extension and remains confident in himself after a 26-7 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the first round of the playoffs as he heads into the final year of his rookie deal. "I don't feel any pressure at all. I have full trust in myself," Tagovailoa said. "I have full trust in what I'm capable of doing for our organization, but outside of that we're focusing on tonight and what happened, we're going to simmer on this and see what we can do to get better from it." After dealing with two concussions in 2022, he started all 17 games for Miami in 2023 and led the NFL in passing yards (4,624) while setting career-highs in passing yards, touchdowns (29) and completion percentage (69.3), so despite the disappointing finish, the 25-year-old should be a strong QB1 option once the elite names come off the board in fantasy drafts this fall.

Raheem Mostert To Play On Saturday

Miami Dolphins running back Raheem Mostert (ankle, knee) is available ahead of Saturday's playoff matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs. Mostert is back after missing the final two games of the regular season due to nagging injuries. The veteran back was limited in practice to start the week, but will be fine for this game. The 31-year-old led the league in touchdowns with 23, which is impressive given how many offensive weapons the Dolphins have on their roster. That being said, Mostert will be touchdown-dependent DFS option for this tough matchup against the Chiefs defense. Mostert will be forced to share the backfield with De'Von Achane, which won't do any favors to his fantasy value.
