Romeo Doubs A Training Camp Standout

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Romeo Doubs reportedly had a "fantastic" Spring earlier this offseason, and he has been a standout performer during training camp. The 2022 fourth-round pick has tallied 101 receptions for 1,099 yards and 11 touchdowns through his first 30 NFL games, and he posted an incredible 151-yard performance in his first postseason game last January. He often gets overlooked in the crowded Green Bay receiver room, but all signs point toward him remaining a key target for quarterback Jordan Love. "It has been really cool watching Romeo over these last three seasons; the steps he makes every single year," offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich said. "His route-running right now has been pretty tremendous. He's always had super-strong hands but the routes that he's putting on tape right now are pretty impressive and he ended the season last year, the last half of the season, he was playing at a pretty high level. He's really continued that in camp so far." Doubs has an average best-ball ADP around the 106 slot, while teammates Jayden Reed and Christian Watson come off the board well before him. If Green Bay's offense takes another step forward in 2024, Doubs could be a tremendous middle or late-round value heading into his third NFL campaign.

MarShawn Lloyd To Return To Practice On Tuesday

Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said that rookie running back MarShawn Lloyd (hip) will make his training camp debut and return to practice on Tuesday. Lloyd has been out with a minor hip injury and will only do individual drills on Tuesday as he ramps up. The third-rounder out of USC is missing valuable reps in camp right now, but it looks like the 23-year-old should be able to return sooner than later with the rest of the team. Heading into his first NFL season, Lloyd will clearly be behind lead back Josh Jacobs, and he could also be behind AJ Dillon, who looks determined to put his disappointing 2023 season in the rearview mirror. However, Lloyd's explosiveness is intriguing, and he'll have an opportunity to become the team's No. 2 before season's end. In deeper redraft leagues, Lloyd might be worth a late-round flier, especially if you go with Jacobs early on.

Jayden Reed Back On The Practice Field On Saturday

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed (toe) is taking his first team repetitions of training camp on Saturday, and it coincides with quarterback Jordan Love returning to practice for the first time this summer after signing a record contract extension on Friday. It didn't take long for the two to hook up in practice, with Love throwing an out-route to Reed out of the slot toward the right sideline. Reed started camp on the Non-Football Injury list but was activated earlier this week after suffering a minor toe injury earlier this summer. The 24-year-old former second-rounder last year proved his explosiveness right away in his first NFL season, scoring 10 total touchdowns while catching 64 passes for 793 yards in 16 regular-season games (13 starts). Reed is a special talent, but fantasy managers shouldn't reach for his TD production. With Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs and Dontayvion Wicks all in the picture, Reed could be a TD-or-bust WR3/4 in fantasy.

Jordan Love To Be Full-Go In First Padded Practice

Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said that quarterback Jordan Love will be a full participant in the team's first padded practice at training camp. "He's been ramping up. It's just you guys haven't seen it. He's been throwing every day after practice, and he's had guys catching for him," LaFleur. Love has been with the team at training camp but had been sitting out practices before signing a four-year contract extension worth $220 million on Friday with $155 in full guarantees. The 25-year-old is now the highest-paid player in the NFL after impressing in his first full year in the league in 2023, when he threw for 4,159 yards, 32 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in 17 regular-season games. The big performance from Love has catapulted him to low-end QB1 status in fantasy for upcoming 2024 drafts.

Jordan Love, Packers Agree To Four-Year Extension

The Green Bay Packers have officially decided to lock up quarterback Jordan Love long-term. Love and the Packers agreed to a new deal Friday evening, culminating in a four-year extension worth $220 million, including a $75 million signing bonus and $155 million guaranteed. The second-year starter will now be a part of the Packers for the foreseeable future, and his new deal puts him at the top of the list regarding annual average salary among quarterbacks. Despite playing just one season as a starter, the Packers saw enough from Love to warrant paying him a big bag of cash. He's the current QB8 in NFFC ADP (62nd overall). If Love has retained the gains that made him the fantasy QB6 in 2023, he'll provide a good bit of value at his current price and remains a target in every format for 2024.
