Oklahoma City Thunder guard/forward Josh Giddey ended up playing a very limited role in the second-round series against Dallas, but he's not seeking a change of scenery. "I love it here. This is a home away from home. I love everything about this place, the city, the fans," Giddey said. "The organization top to bottom is just unbelievable people throughout the building, and getting to come here to work every day is a lot of fun. It doesn't feel like work." Giddey also had a down year during the regular season, recording career-low numbers across the board with 12.3 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 4.8 assists. The 21-year-old is eligible for an extension this offseason, but the team is reportedly looking to move him on.
Oklahoma City Thunder guard/forward Josh Giddey led the second unit with 11 points in Wednesday's 104-92 loss to the Mavericks. Giddey has struggled in the series, and Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault dropped him on the bench for Game 5 in favor of Isaiah Joe. The move worked out well for Giddey, as he enjoyed his best outing of the series, adding three rebounds and two assists to his tally with 5-for-8 shooting across 12 minutes. However, with the team losing and now 3-2 behind in the series, Daigneault might be forced to make further adjustments. Joe had a quiet outing with six points. The lineup change also resulted in Cason Wallace logging a playoff career-high 27 minutes off the bench. He couldn't get going either, shooting 1-for-7 to finish with three points.
Oklahoma City Thunder guard Josh Giddey (hip) won't play on Friday versus the Bucks. The 21-year-old nearly had a triple-double in Wednesday's blowout over the San Antonio Spurs. But he'll sit this one out because of a bruised hip, meaning his next chance to suit up will be in Sunday's regular-season finale. With that said, Giddey's absence will open up minutes for Isaiah Joe and Cason Wallace. However, both men are still hard to trust from a DFS standpoint.
Oklahoma City Thunder guard Josh Giddey (hip) is listed as questionable ahead of Friday's game against the Milwaukee Bucks. Giddey is a late addition to the injury report due to a right hip contusion. Luguentz Dort figures to move into the starting five and have increased playing time if Giddey sits out. Cason Wallace is also a candidate for increased playing time, but Dort is the better streaming option between the two of them.
Oklahoma City Thunder guard Josh Giddey put his talents on full display on Sunday versus Charlotte, leading his squad to a 121-118 victory by recording his eighth career triple-double. Giddey scored 20 points on 7-for-15 shooting and picked up 13 rebounds and 13 assists, both of which were game-high marks. Two of Giddey's eight triple-doubles have come across the last five games. The versatile Australian has had his strongest stretch of the season lately, benefiting from Shai Gilgeous-Alexander's (quadriceps) absence. The Thunder leader has missed six of the past seven games. Giddey has posted 19.0 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 6.7 assists in seven games without Gilgeous-Alexander this season.
