Memphis Grizzlies guard Derrick Rose (back) has been ruled out of the Friday night matchup with the Portland Trail Blazers due to back soreness. The veteran point guard has only appeared in 24 games so far this year and hasn't seen consistent minutes when he is available. He was able to play in the last three games but didn't see any more than 15 minutes despite the team suffering tons of injuries to all of their core players. Jordan Goodwin and Vince Williams Jr. are both good streaming options as they should remain in the starting lineup. They will likely see big minutes since there aren't any other options that are healthy right now.
Memphis Grizzlies point guard Derrick Rose left Wednesday's contest against Minnesota early due to back soreness, logging only six minutes. Facing one of his former teams, Rose tallied two points and an assist coming off the bench. Rose will now get to rest his back for a day before Memphis starts a back-to-back on Friday versus Portland. It looks certain he will sit out at least one of the contests, and it wouldn't be surprising at all to see the Grizzlies finish the week without Rose. Memphis' most recent backcourt injuries have made Jordan Goodwin a guy to monitor. He struggled to score against the Timberwolves but had eight rebounds and eight assists with two steals in 31 minutes.
Memphis Grizzlies point guard Derrick Rose (ankle) is doubtful to play Monday versus New Orleans. The veteran is troubled by ankle soreness and looks like he will be forced to take some time off again. Rose has played only four times in 2024 and 20 times in total across the season. With Memphis' backcourt thin already, we should see Vince Williams Jr. continue to lead the way, with the likes of Jacob Gilyard and Scotty Pippen Jr. in a supporting role. Interestingly, Pippen Jr. has been sitting out the most recent games Rose has played while having a prominent role in the matchups the former MVP has missed. He could be a very interesting DFS option for Monday's busy slate.
Memphis Grizzlies point guard Derrick Rose (hamstring) is questionable for Tuesday's matchup against the Knicks. The former MVP returned from a 15-game absence on Friday versus Sacramento but was sidelined again when Memphis faced Boston on Sunday. Overall, Rose has featured just three times since Dec. 15, playing only a small role in the rotation. The veteran is one of several guards with health problems in Memphis, which has resulted in Jacob Gilyard, Scotty Pippen Jr., and Luke Kennard taking over the Grizzlies backcourt. The trio looks set for a healthy amount of minutes again on Tuesday.
Memphis Grizzlies guard Luke Kennard (knee) and Derrick Rose (hamstring) are expected to suit up for Friday's game against the Golden State Warriors. Kennard will make his way back to the court after a three-game absence. Rose is available for the third time since the middle of December. Both players are going to play on a minutes restriction during Friday's game. Scotty Pippen Jr. and Jacob Gilyard figure to have decreased roles with Kennard and Rose back in the picture. However, the Grizzlies are banged up enough that Pippen should still have a significant role in the rotation. Fantasy managers should be cautious about putting Kennard or Rose in their lineups with them being limited on Friday.
