Milwaukee Bucks guard Damian Lillard (ankle) has been ruled out ahead of Thursday's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The superstar guard will miss his second game in a row due to a left ankle sprain. His absence is going to leave the team extremely shorthanded at the guard spot on Thursday. Pat Connaughton should remain in the starting five and is worth a look as a streaming option. Andre Jackson Jr. should see more minutes off the bench which should give him increased value as well.

He was listed on the injury report ahead of Sunday's meeting with Utah but ended up playing. However, the 33-year-old struggled, scoring 12 points and shooting 5-for-18 from the field and 1-for-8 from deep. Hopefully, a night off will do the former Trail Blazer some good and enable him to get back on the floor for Thursday's showdown with the Minnesota Timberwolves. But in the meantime, Cameron Payne, averaging 10.5 points in two starts this year, will likely take over for Lillard in the lineup. Of course, with Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton active, both men should handle most of the work on the scoring end.

Despite that, Lillard will suit up for the second night of this back-to-back set. He'll start alongside Malik Beasley, Jae Crowder, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Bobby Portis on Sunday. Lillard could be asked to do a little more on offense with Khris Middleton (rest) sitting out.

The 33-year-old seven-time All-Star's numbers have taken a predictable dip around plenty of stars during his first year in Milwaukee, but he is still returning second-round fantasy value while putting up 25.1 points, 6.9 assists, 3.0 three-pointers, and 1.1 steals per game with 91.6% free-throw shooting. Return Lillard to all season-long lineups for Thursday's battle between two Eastern Conference juggernauts.
