Minnesota Timberwolves guard/forward Anthony Edwards went for a team-high 40 points as his squad completed a first-round sweep against Phoenix on Sunday with a 122-116 win. Edwards exploded after being limited to nine points in the first half, shooting 13-for-23 from the field and hitting 7-for-13 from downtown. Minnesota's young superstar also collected nine rebounds, six assists, one steal, and two blocks, breaking a tie with Kevin Garnett for most 30-point playoff games in franchise history. In fact, Edwards has now scored 30-plus points in over half of his 15 postseason appearances. He finished the series against the Suns with a 31-point scoring average.
Minnesota Timberwolves guard/forward Anthony Edwards racked up a game-high 36 points on 12-for-23 shooting in Friday's 126-109 Game 3 victory over Phoenix. He tied Kevin Garnett for most 30-point playoff games in franchise history, reaching the mark for the seventh time in his 14th career postseason game. Edwards' night included nine rebounds, five assists, and two steals. The young star has been impressive in the series, averaging 28.0 points with 7.7 rebounds, 6.3 assists, and 2.3 steals. He will be out for the kill on Sunday, with Minnesota heading into Game 4 holding a 3-0 lead.
Minnesota Timberwolves guard/forward Anthony Edwards couldn't replicate his Game 1 performance in the second game of the first-round series against Phoenix, settling for 15 points on 3-for-12 shooting in Tuesday's 105-93 win. He made two shots from outside with six attempts and was 7-for-8 at the line. Edwards couldn't get going shooting-wise but helped out well in other areas, delivering a game-high eight assists and notching five rebounds with three steals and one block. Karl-Anthony Towns also struggled to make an impact offensively, but Minnesota still dominated the contest, which must be very encouraging for the team going forward. The series shifts to Phoenix on Friday, with Edwards looking to produce a bounce-back performance in Game 3.
Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards (illness) is listed as questionable ahead of Friday's game against the Atlanta Hawks. The star guard is a late addition to the injury report due to an illness. This could very well end up being a game-time decision type of situation. That being said, fantasy managers will have to check back ahead of tip-off. Nickeil Alexander-Walker would likely move into the starting five if Edwards sits. He'd be worth looking at as a possible streaming option with more playing time.
Minnesota Timberwolves guard/forward Anthony Edwards went off for a career-high 51 points in Tuesday's 130-121 win over Washington. The T-Wolves got run over in the first quarter, falling 44-25 behind, but led by Edwards, the team was able to turn things around. He had 30 points in the second half, finishing the game with 17-for-29 shooting. Edwards made all of his 11 attempts at the charity stripe and hit six three-point bombs with 13 attempts. His work across 38 minutes included six rebounds and seven assists. The Timberwolves star will be back out on the court Wednesday night in a pivotal battle against Denver to decide the top seed in the Western Conference, and we should see him trying to grab the game by the scruff of the neck again.
