Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was at it again on Thursday, going 3-for-4 with a homer, a triple, and a double in a 7-6 win over the Baltimore Orioles. Vladdy also drove in four and scored two runs to round out his line. He also extended his hitting streak to 20 games. The 25-year-old has been the best hitter in baseball since he cut his hair on June 19, slashing .385/.438/.782 with 15 homers and 42 RBI. Maybe he's the reverse Samson, or maybe he's just figured something out at the dish. The talent was always there, and we just might be seeing it all come together for Vladdy.
Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. had a great day at the plate, smacking a solo HR, a double and a single in Toronto's 8-3 loss to the New York Yankees on Saturday. Guerrero's solo shot came in the first inning off Yankees starter Carlos Rodon, his 28th HR on the season. The 25-year-old improved his OPS to .929 on the season, though his strong efforts weren't enough as the Blue Jays' record fell to 51-60. Vladdy's 2024 is on pace to be the second best season of his career with a 157 OPS+ and 4.0 bWAR coming into Saturday, trailing only his 2021 marks that saw him finish second in AL MVP voting. Though Toronto's season is reeling (10.5 GB in the wild card race) Guerrero Jr. continues to be a bright spot for the Blue Jays. Fantasy managers should continue to keep him in their starting lineups as often as possible. He'll look to continue his hot streak on Sunday against scheduled starter Gerrit Cole, who he is 11-32 against with two HR and three doubles in his career.
Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was one of the few bright spots in his team's 4-2 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday. Guerrero went 1-for-3 with a solo homer, his 17th of the season, in the contest. The veteran infielder launched a solo shot in the sixth inning, a blast that traveled 424 feet with an exit velocity of 112 MPH to cut the Tampa lead to 3-1. Guerrero is putting together another elite fantasy season, hitting .293 with 17 homers, 50 runs, 60 RBI, and two steals across 386 at-bats. With his name popping up in trade rumors, Guerrero has been swinging a hot bat of late, hitting .370 with four homers and seven RBI over his past seven contests.
Toronto Blue Jays superstar third baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. continued his hot hitting Saturday in a 7-3 loss to the Detroit Tigers. Guerrero Jr. went 3-for-4, knocking two singles before crushing a 418-foot blast to center field off Tigers right-hander Kenta Maeda. Over his last three games leading up to and coming out of the All-Star break, Guerrero Jr. has gone 7-for-13 with four runs scored, five RBI, and homers in each of the three. The 25-year-old is hitting .293 on the season, up to 16 HR and 59 RBI. With the Blue Jays at the bottom of a stacked American League East, Guerrero Jr. remains one of the more prominent names rumored to be dealt to a contender at the deadline. Meaningful games in September are music to a fantasy manager's ear and could potentially be the catalyst to his first 30 HR and 100 RBI season since 2021.
Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. came up clutch for his team during Sunday's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks. The two sides traded seven-run rallies in what ended up being a high-scoring affair on Sunday. Guerrero gave his team the lead for good with a go-ahead 438-foot home run off right-hander Kevin Ginkel in the seventh inning. Guerrero finished the day 3-for-5 with pair of runs scored. He'll head into the All-Star break with 14 home runs and 55 RBI.
