Baltimore Orioles shortstop Gunnar Henderson stuffed the stat sheet in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Tigers, going 2-for-3 with a walk, a home run, two RBI, two runs scored, and a stolen base in the contest. The 23-year-old is riding a six-game hit streak and has hit safely in 12 of his last 13 games. The former second-round draft pick is slashing .375/.446/.750 in September and is following up his Rookie of the Year campaign with an even stronger season, tallying a .283-37-87-113-19 line with a .389 wOBA and 159 wRC+, trailing only Bobby Witt Jr. for the top-producing fantasy shortstop.
Baltimore Orioles shortstop Gunnar Henderson went 3-for-4 in Wednesday's 8-1 loss to the White Sox, homering for the 35th time this season in the contest. The home run gave him the most single-season home runs all-time for an Orioles shortstop, passing both Cal Ripken Jr. and Miguel Tejada in the process. The hits extended Henderson's current hit streak to five games, going 8-for-19 (.421) with a pair of home runs, six RBI, five runs, a 5:4 BB:K, and two stolen bases. The 23-year-old now has a .280-35-84-107-17 line through 139 games with a .385 wOBA and 156 wRC+, making him one of the most valuable fantasy assets in all of baseball.
Baltimore Orioles shortstop Gunnar Henderson reached a milestone in his team's 4-1 win over the Washington Nationals on Wednesday. Henderson went 1-for-3 with a walk and a two-run homer to help power the Orioles to the win. The homer was Henderson's 30th of the season, the first time he's reached that milestone in his career. Henderson is now batting .288 with 95 runs, 71 RBI, and 14 steals across 473 at-bats as he continues to establish himself as one of the top fantasy shortstops in baseball. He will look to stay hot as the Orioles open up a series against the Boston Red Sox starting Thursday.
Baltimore Orioles shortstop Gunnar Henderson went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer on Sunday, leading the O's to a 9-5 win over the Cleveland Guardians. Henderson also scored three times. The 23-year-old has been sensational for most of the season, but July was a bit mediocre as Henderson had a .751 OPS and managed only two homers. He has gotten off to a hot start in August though, and fantasy managers should have no worries about him being one of the premiere shortstops in the league. If he wants to stay in the MVP race with Bobby Witt Jr. and Aaron Judge, though, he'll have to get back to where he was early in the season.
Baltimore Orioles shortstop Gunnar Henderson will start Game 2 of Monday's doubleheader against the visiting division-rival Toronto Blue Jays on the bench. Henderson will be replaced at shortstop by Jordan Westburg, who will hit sixth against Blue Jays right-hander Bowden Francis. In the first game of the twin bill, Henderson went 1-for-4 with two runs scored and a walk. The 23-year-old All-Star will get a break for the second contest, though. Henderson is having a brilliant 2024 campaign in just his third year in the league and is in the running for American League MVP. Coming into Monday's doubleheader, he was hitting .283/.371/.559 with a .931 OPS, 28 home runs, 64 RBI, 14 stolen bases and 82 runs scored in 104 games. He's on a modest four-game hitting streak but has hit just .250 (9-for-36) with no homers, one RBI and eight strikeouts in nine games since the All-Star break.
