New York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo (illness) remains out of the starting lineup on Friday for the start of a series in Miami against the Marlins. Nimmo was scratched from Thursday's lineup against the Philadelphia Phillies due to a stomach bug and clearly is still not feeling well a day later. The 31-year-old should be considered day-to-day. Check back on Saturday to see if he's back in the Mets' lineup. Tyrone Taylor will make another start in left field and will head leadoff against Marlins left-hander Jesus Luzardo. Taylor has two hits and two RBI in just three career at-bats against Luzardo. However, Taylor is also hitting just .191 (4-for-21) with no homers and seven strikeouts in his 10 games played in May. Because he's hitting out of the leadoff spot, he'll have slightly more appeal as a DFS sleeper.

The move makes Taylor more attractive as a DFS sleeper play for Thursday's slate against Phillies right-hander Taijuan Walker. Nimmo is hitting a disappointing .215/.361/.396 on the year with six home runs, 27 RBI and 21 runs scored in 149 at-bats, but his xwOBA of .422 means he's an excellent buy-low candidate who has been squaring balls up regularly without much to show for it so far in 2024.

Nimmo left Saturday's game early with right-intercostal irritation, and that injury also prevented him from starting on Sunday. However, the outfielder was feeling good enough to come off the bench and hit a walk-off two-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning. He appears to be healthy heading into the Mets' four-game set against the Phillies and will slide right back into the top spot in the batting order for New York. He is hitting .234 with six home runs and 27 RBI in 38 games this season.

New York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo (ribs) hit a walk-off two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth against the Atlanta Braves to give the Mets a 4-3 win. Nimmo, who was sitting out on Sunday due to intercostal irritation, came in as a defensive sub in the eighth inning and stayed in to hit in the ninth. The veteran lefty said in an interview earlier in the game that he would be good to go Monday, but apparently he was already feeling well enough to make a major impact on this game. Nimmo should be started in weekly leagues next week barring any news of a setback.

Nimmo left Saturday's game early after experiencing intercostal irritation after a check swing. It is unclear whether Nimmo will be able to return to the lineup on Monday. DJ Stewart would be the biggest beneficiary if Nimmo continues to miss time. Stewart is starting in left field and batting leadoff on Sunday, but his .185/.372/.415 slash line leaves a lot to be desired.
