Jeremy Ruckert Out For Week 18

New York Jets tight end Jeremy Ruckert (concussion) has been ruled out for Week 18. The 23-year-old suffered a concussion in Week 16 against the Washington Commanders and has not practiced since that game. Ruckert's season ends having caught 16 of his 22 targets for 151 receiving yards. With Ruckert out for the season finale, Kenny Yeboah will see a slight increase in work as Tyler Conklin's backup. Last week against the Cleveland Browns Yeboah caught two passes for 28 yards, which accounts for all of his offensive production since being activated from injured reserve in Week 14.

Breece Hall Remains Viable Against Patriots

New York Jets running back Breece Hall has been excellent for fantasy purposes as of late and will hope to find continued success in a Week 18 divisional clash with the New England Patriots. Although New England has been incredibly stout against the run this season, much of Hall's production has come from his heavy utilization as a pass-catcher. The second-year pro has earned the most targets of any running back this year and has received 25 looks from quarterback Trevor Siemian in his two starts. Expectations should be tempered for Hall in this matchup, but fantasy managers can continue to trust him as a solid RB2.

Aaron Rodgers Staying Active At Practice

New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers (Achilles) remained limited at Thursday's practice despite the fact that he won't play in Week 18 against the New England Patriots. The book has already been closed for Rodgers' debut season in the Big Apple, but he is at least still staying active on the practice field as he continues to rehab from Week 1's ruptured Achilles. The 40-year-old 10-time Pro Bowler should enter the 2024 season as a popular Comeback Player of the Year candidate with a clean bill of health, considering Rodgers was pushing to make an improbable late-season return before the Jets were eliminated from playoff contention in Week 15. Zach Wilson (concussion) is also out on Sunday, so Trevor Siemian will draw the starting nod under center in the regular-season finale. With a pitifully low 30.5-point implied total, this is not a game to target for DFS purposes.

Tyrod Taylor Stays Limited In Practice

New York Giants quarterback Tyrod Taylor (back) was limited in the team's practice on Thursday for the second straight day this week. It was announced earlier this week that Taylor would make his second straight start for the G-Men to close out the year in Week 18 versus the Philadelphia Eagles. We fully expect Taylor to be fine to play this weekend, but in the event the Giants play it safe and hold the veteran out, it would be rookie Tommy Devito making the start instead. For those feeling frisky in DFS, the 34-year-old Taylor could be a worthwhile, low-cost play while facing an Eagles defense that has been very generous to opposing QBs all year. On top of it, the Eagles could be resting key veterans on both sides of the ball this weekend with an eye toward getting healthier for the postseason. Taylor threw for over 300 yards with a TD and a pick in the one-point loss to the Los Angeles Rams in Week 17.

Allen Lazard Fully Practices On Wednesday

New York Jets wide receiver Allen Lazard (illness) was a full participant in Wednesday's team practice. Lazard missed last week's game against the Cleveland Browns with an illness. But he appears to be past it as he enters Week 18 against the New England Patriots fully healthy. The 28-year-old has had a rough first season with the Jets, catching just 23 passes for 311 yards and one touchdown. He also has only caught one pass since Week 11. With that in mind, Lazard should not be on anyone's fantasy radar this weekend in both season-long leagues and DFS contests.
