No Restrictions For Aaron Rodgers During Offseason Workouts

New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh said that there will be no restrictions for quarterback Aaron Rodgers (Achilles) when Phase 3 of the offseason begins in two weeks, which consists of 10 organized team activity practices. "Once phase three hits, we're not anticipating any restrictions from what we can and can't do with him," Saleh said. Meanwhile, rookie QB Jordan Travis (ankle), is expected to be ready for training camp after suffering a devastating injury in November. The 40-year-old Rodgers is coming off a torn left Achilles that he suffered on the first offensive series of the season in 2023. The odds are against him returning to his MVP form with the Jets, but he's not lacking for offensive weapons around him if he can stay healthy in 2024.

Jets Trade Up To Select Malachi Corley

The New York Jets traded up with the Carolina Panthers to select Western Kentucky wide receiver Malachi Corley. Corley led the nation in yards after catch over the past two seasons, has great elusiveness, and had the most receptions in the FBS over the past three seasons with 253. The 22-year-old can threaten vertically as well and should be a strong deep threat option for Aaron Rodgers. Corley joins a wide receiver room with star Garrett Wilson and newly acquired Mike Williams. Corley could be a sleeper pick in fantasy this season as he could slot in as the number two option with the injury-prone Mike Williams.

Jordan Travis Meeting With Jets On Monday

Florida State quarterback Jordan Travis (ankle) is visiting with the New York Jets on Monday. The 23-year-old fractured and dislocated his left ankle on Nov. 18, yet he still finished fifth in the 2023 Heisman Trophy voting. Travis threw for over 8,000 yards and 66 touchdowns and rushed for nearly 2,000 yards and 31 touchdowns in his 49 college games, so he has plenty of experience to be at least a quality backup in the NFL. The Jets have Aaron Rodgers (Achilles) and Tyrod Taylor on the roster, but with Rodgers set to turn 41 years old at the end of next season, the organization could start to throw darts at the quarterback position in the later round of the next few drafts. Travis has been back on the field in the days leading up to this year's draft.

Malachi Corley Visiting With Saints, Seahawks

Western Kentucky wide receiver and 2024 NFL Draft prospect Malachi Corley is visiting with the New Orleans Saints on Monday, and he is scheduled to visit with the Seattle Seahawks later in the week. The 22-year-old put his name on the NFL radar after catching 180 passes for 2,279 yards and 22 touchdowns over the last two seasons (26 games). Corley is dangerous after the catch, which has become more coveted in the modern NFL. He is expected to be a Day 2 selection in this month's draft. The Saints are seeking an adequate WR2 behind Chris Olave, while the Seahawks should be content with their top three wideouts in DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Either way, teams are going to go through the process with top prospects.

Aaron Rodgers Reports For Voluntary Workouts

New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers (Achilles), who is coming off a torn left Achilles suffered in the season opener in 2023, was present for Day 1 of the team's voluntary offseason workouts on Monday. Despite being 40 years old and coming off a pretty serious injury that knocked him out for all of last year, the future Hall of Famer is hoping to play multiple more seasons. Rodgers was able to return to practices late last season, so barring some sort of setback this offseason or in training camp this summer, Rodgers will be ready to go for Week 1 of the 2024 regular season. He has plenty of weapons around him in New York's offense, but it's fair to wonder how an aging signal-caller will do coming off a lost season. At best, fantasy managers should treat him as a low-end QB1 injury risk in drafts this fall.
