His massive target total was aided by the fact that Puka Nacua (knee) left the game early and Nacua has been placed on IR, so that figures to continue in Week 2 at Arizona. Everyone knows Kupp is going to get looked for as Matthew Stafford's primary target, but there is often nothing the defense can do because the Rams are so creative with pre-snap motions and lineup configurations to complement Kupp's already superior route-running skills. In other words, expect another large target share against the Cardinals, which usually translates to a big fantasy day for Kupp. While healthy, Kupp is one of the top receivers in the NFL and for fantasy purposes.

A healthy Kupp is still one of the most dangerous receivers in the NFL and his connection with Stafford along with the way Sean McVay and the Rams' coaching staff schemes him up, is a thing of beauty at times. Nacua came back for one play after being injured but was forced to leave the game and will undergo testing on his right knee on Monday. With his health in question, Kupp's status elevates even more. Kupp is a no-doubt WR1 while healthy and could be one of the best values of this year's fantasy drafts if his target share keeps up at this pace.

In a potential shootout played in dome conditions, look for Kupp to score a touchdown and potentially get to 100+ receiving yards in the opening week of the season.

The Los Angeles Rams plan to hold out the same players that missed the preseason opener in Saturday's preseason contest against the Los Angeles Chargers, including wide receiver Cooper Kupp and running back Kyren Williams. Kupp has been healthy this summer during training camp, but head coach Sean McVay isn't taking any chances with the team's key players in the preseason this year. It remains to be seen if the 31-year-old Kupp or other key players will even suit up for the preseason finale next week. Kupp missed the first four games of 2023 with a hamstring injury, so it makes sense as to why the Rams want to rest him this summer. With better health, a bounce-back campaign in 2024 is possible for a player only a couple years removed from a league-high 145 catches, 1,947 yards and 16 touchdowns, but the presence of rising star Puka Nacua won't help Kupp's cause.

According to Fowler, the Rams' offense evidently "runs through Kupp." The 31-year-old wideout finished 2023 as the fantasy WR24 on a PPG basis after a season where he was never truly healthy, suffering injuries during the regular season and pre-season. However, three years ago, Kupp finished as the overall WR1 on the back of a historic Triple-Crown winning season and then began 2022 at an equally historic pace through nine games before going down with an ankle sprain. Whether Kupp is actually back is yet to be determined, but if his disappointing 2023 is more a product of health than a regression of skill, he could have an excellent bounce-back season. Kupp is the 39th player off the board in NFFC drafts (WR21) and has Puka Nacua to compete with for quarterback Matthew Stafford's targets. It's unclear exactly how those targets will shake out, but a fully healthy Kupp and Nacua are certain to terrorize opposing defenses all season.
