Allen Lazard Labeled A Bounce-Back Candidate

New York Jets wide receiver Allen Lazard signed a four-year, $44 million contract to join his longtime quarterback Aaron Rodgers and the organization last offseason, but after Rodgers went down with a torn Achilles on the first drive of the year, Lazard had a disastrous campaign. The former undrafted free agent caught just 23 passes for 311 yards and one touchdown in 14 games. With Rodgers back, Jets reporter Rich Cimini labeled Lazard as a potential bounce-back candidate. "Lazard was one of the standouts in the Jets' first practice, making two nifty catches on passes from quarterback Aaron Rodgers," Cimini wrote. "One good practice doesn't equate to a full comeback, but it should do wonders for his confidence. Privately, some in the organization felt he suffered from a confidence problem last season, his first in New York after signing a big free agent deal." With Mike Williams (knee) on the PUP list, Lazard will see extra reps with the first-team offense. Additionally, there's no guarantee that third-round rookie Malachi Corley will start the season ahead of Lazard in the target pecking order. While it's tough to get excited about Lazard's fantasy prospects, his cost outside the top 100 wide receivers makes him worth a dart throw in deep leagues. After all, he has the most chemistry with Rodgers, who is known for being a stickler on familiarly.

Breece Hall Sees Work In 11-On-11 Drills

New York Jets running back Breece Hall (lower body), who was dealing with an undisclosed lower-body issue during offseason workouts, took part in 11-on-11 drills during training camp practice on Wednesday. It's a great sign for Hall after he was held out as a precaution during OTAs and minicamp earlier this offseason. The 23-year-old former second-round pick (36th overall) in 2022 out of Iowa State tore his ACL in his first year in the NFL but nearly rushed for 1,000 yards on 223 rushing attempts in his sophomore season, adding nine total touchdowns in 17 games (16 starts). With quarterback Aaron Rodgers (Achilles) returning and with an improved offensive line in front of him, the sky is the limit for Hall in 2024 as a high-end RB1 as long as he avoids any serious injuries.

Aaron Rodgers Unsure If He'll Return In 2025

New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers expressed uncertainty on his player future beyond the 2024 season while on Pardon My Take on Tuesday. When asked how many more years he will play in the NFL, Rodgers said, "I don't know. This one, for sure. I'd like to do -- I wanted to do two good ones and give us a chance to retire a Jet. Win two Super Bowls." The 40-year-old's willingness to play beyond the 2024 season will likely come down to how this season goes and how well he plays while coming off a torn left Achilles in Week 1 of 2023. The odds of Rodgers having another MVP-like season at this point in his career are unlikely, but if anything can do it, it would be him. He'll have plenty of weapons around him on offense as he attempts a successful return from a serious injury, but fantasy managers need to temper their expectations and treat him as more of a low-end QB2.

Aaron Rodgers Reports For Training Camp

New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers (Achilles) officially reported to training camp on Tuesday morning, according to a photo posted on the team's official X account. Rodgers had previously skipped minicamp and was subsequently fined, but he's back at the Jets' facilities as training camp gets underway across the NFL. Rodgers is looking to make a big impact in 2024 after suffering a torn Achilles during his first game with the Jets last year. Fantasy managers who believe Rodgers can get back on track might salivate at his current ADP of 133, which makes him the 20th quarterback off the board in redraft leagues. The Jets have struggled with quarterback play in recent years, but pairing Rodgers with a talented group of weapons such as Garrett Wilson and Breece Hall might just be the recipe for success.

Jordan Travis Headed To Non-Football Injury List

New York Jets quarterback Jordan Travis (leg) has been placed on the non-football injury list on Thursday. This doesn't come as a surprise considering Travis is still recovering from a leg fracture from November. The fifth-round pick can return at any point during training camp since he was put on the list before camp started. Travis is unlikely to have fantasy value during the 2024 season. He's expected to serve as the third-string quarterback behind Aaron Rodgers and Tyrod Taylor. Fantasy managers in redraft formats can feel free to avoid Travis. However, dynasty managers have more incentive to hold Travis with Rodgers possibly retiring after the 2024 season.
