Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver David Moore caught two of his three targets for 66 yards and a touchdown in the Wild Card win over the Philadelphia Eagles. The veteran, who is on his seventh team in seven years, ripped off a 44-yard catch-and-run touchdown in the first quarter to set the tone for the blowout win on Monday night. Although it was an impressive performance, he had just five receptions during the regular season, so he remains nothing more than a budget-friendly DFS option in a favorable matchup against the Detroit Lions on Sunday in the NFC Divisional Round.
Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Diontae Johnson secured four of his seven targets for 48 yards and a touchdown in a 31-17 loss to the Buffalo Bills. Although Johnson finished third on the team in targets and receiving yards on Monday, he was arguably Pittsburgh's most impactful player. He was on the receiving end of quarterback Mason Rudolph's first touchdown pass of the contest that gave the Steelers life after quickly surrendering 21 points. The 27-year-old had an up-and-down season for fantasy purposes but was productive with six touchdowns in his 14 total games played. He figures to remain an integral piece of the Steelers' passing attack in the 2024-2025 campaign.
Philadelphia Eagles running back Rashaad Penny (coach's decision) and free safety Reed Blankenship (groin) are inactive for Monday night's wild-card playoff game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Penny was an interesting pickup for the Eagles in the offseason, but due to their crowded backfield, the 27-year-old was a complete non-factor in his first year with the team and finished the regular season with just 11 rushing attempts for 33 yards while catching one pass for a five-yard gain in three games played. He was active in the Week 18 regular season finale against the New York Giants, but the last time before that he was active was in Week 9. Blankenship was injured last week and didn't practice at all during the week. The 24-year-old's absence is even more bad news for an Eagles defense that collapsed at the tail end of the regular season.
Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Diontae Johnson closed the regular season with a strong performance and will look to find continued success against the Buffalo Bills in the wild-card round of the playoffs. Unfortunately, this contest is projected to be a low-scoring affair due to the harsh winter weather conditions in Buffalo. Elemental challenges aside, this is a difficult matchup for Johnson as the Bills have surrendered the seventh-fewest fantasy points to wideouts throughout the 2023-2024 campaign. Because Johnson frequently runs routes close to the line of scrimmage, he should still provide a relatively safe floor as a go-to guy for Mason Rudolph, but he can't be viewed as anything more than a middling fantasy WR2 on Sunday.
Carolina Panthers tight end Tommy Tremble caught both of his targets for 11 yards in a 9-0 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 18. The third-year tight end's effort was good enough for third-most receiving yards on the team on a quiet afternoon for the offense. Tremble finishes his 2023 season with 23 catches for 194 yards and three touchdowns in 16 games. He will look to make a case to open the 2024 season as Carolina's No. 1 tight end this offseason.
