Pfaadt gave up eight hits during this outing, but he did a nice job of limiting the damage. It hasn't been a great year for Pfaadt, but he has been a nice source of strikeouts. He'll carry a 4.32 ERA, 1.19 WHIP, and a 155/34 K/BB ratio into his next start against the Houston Astros. The high strikeout rate gives Pfaadt value despite it being a tough matchup.

Fantasy managers get another opportunity to see the workhorse (seventh in innings pitched) in action when he pitches at the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday.

Earning his 10th quality start of the season, the right-hander tossed six frames and allowed three hits, zero runs, zero walks and sent four batters back to the dugout via the strikeout. Pfaadt was hit hard in April to open the season, but it has been smooth sailing for the most part since. In 19 starts, Pfaadt is 4-6 with a 3.97 ERA and 104 strikeouts in 113 1/3 innings. Although he hasn't racked up many victories, he does enough across the board to justify being rostered in mixed leagues moving forward.

Pfaadt left his last start early on Saturday against the San Diego Padres after he was hit on the left ankle by a line drive, but X-rays came back negative, and he won't miss a turn through Arizona's starting rotation. The 25-year-old shouldn't face any pitch-count restrictions on Thursday. In his first meeting against Atlanta on April 6 in his second start of the year, Pfaadt allowed five earned runs in 5 2/3 innings in a no-decision, but he'll be facing a much weaker Braves offense on Thursday in Arizona. In his last two starts, Pfaadt has given up just two earned runs with two walks and 14 strikeouts in 10 1/3 innings pitched to lower his season ERA to 4.19 and WHIP to 1.19.
