Welcome back to another WNBA DFS season! Last year, we saw a condensed season conducted in a bubble, in which several key players opted out. Due to the conflicting seasons between the WNBA and European teams, many players will be late to their respective WNBA clubs. That will be something we have to navigate, in addition to the usual COVID-19 protocols.

With this article, I’ll give you my daily three-player core for WNBA DFS, along with some other interesting options to round out your player pool. In Showdown slates, we’ll discuss a captain, secondary option and value play to round out your lineup core. A formatted model is designed to offer you some building blocks, along with some analysis on the importance of the roles they will play in each slate. You’ll also see projected starting lineups for a convenient search of expected starters, especially in a time when getting news may be hard to come by. With that, let’s dive into tonight’s slate.

Core

Odyssey Sims ($6,900 DraftKings, $4,300 FanDuel)

Chennedy Carter is doubtful, so we best not overthink this. Sims will remain in the lineup due to Carter’s absence and take on primary ball-handling duties. With her price remaining in the value tier across both sites, Sims represents one of the best cap-saving options on the slate, and she offers both a good floor and ceiling with additional playing time coming her way. Hopefully she can stay out of foul trouble this go-around.

Layshia Clarendon ($6,800 DraftKings, $4,000 FanDuel)

Evidently the Lynx did not sign Clarendon to be a role player, but rather to take over starting point guard duties and offer a bit more experience to the facilitating role. She has now played 26-plus minutes in both games since joining Minnesota and offers a relatively safe floor as a starting point guard in this lineup. Priced similarly to Odyssey Sims, I actually believe more ownership finds its way to Clarendon, with Sims’ production falling slightly below, but we’ll want to stick with both point guards in builds tonight.

Breanna Stewart ($11,000 DraftKings, $9,000 FanDuel)

I could copy and paste everything from what I discussed Friday. The Wings are struggling against bigs, and Satou Sabally’s return didn’t solve those problems. Stewart now has fantasy point performances of 67 and 50 against Dallas this season, and tonight should be no different with her usage rate. Napheesa Collier represents the next best spend-up option, but she, like Stewart, will carry significant ownership on a two-game slate.

Others to Consider

Guards: Courtney Williams, Arike Ogunbowale, Tiffany Hayes, Jewell Loyd, Sue Bird, Crystal Dangerfield, Stephanie Talbot, Bridget Carleton
Forwards: Napheesa Collier, Satou Sabally, Monique Billings, Isabelle Harrison, Mercedes Russell, Charli Collier, Natalie Achonwa (if Damiris Dantas is OUT)
