Baltimore Orioles outfielder Anthony Santander went 2-for-3 with a double and his 22nd home run of the season in Saturday's 6-5 win over the Rangers. The 29-year-old also walked once, collected two RBI, and scored twice in the contest. Santander is no stranger to the long ball, but he is experiencing a power surge this month, belting 13 of his 22 home runs in June alone. The switch-hitter is having one of his best seasons yet, posting a .233-22-55-46-0 line with a .348 wOBA and 129 wRC+. He's striking out much less than last season (23.2% vs. 18.2%) and currently has a career-high Contact% of 82.4% to go along with a 10.9% Barrel%, which makes his production sustainable (although don't expect 13 home runs per month).
Baltimore Orioles outfielder Anthony Santander went 2-for-2 with two home runs and four RBI in Saturday's 6-2 win over the Philadelphia Phillies. He took Phillies starter Taijuan Walker deep in the fourth inning for his first homer of the game. The 29-year-old later blasted a two-run shot off Jose Ruiz to increase Baltimore's lead. Santander has been on a power surge in June and has homered eight times during the month. He is slashing .231/.307/.498 with 17 home runs, 42 RBI, and 38 runs over 66 games in 2024. Santander hits in the heart of the order in one of the most potent lineups in baseball, and fantasy managers should continue to roll with him in all league formats.
Baltimore Orioles outfielder Anthony Santander went 2-for-5 with his 15th home run of the season in Friday's 5-3 loss to the Orioles. The home run was a big one that knotted the game at 2-2 in the eighth inning, and came off of reliever Matt Strahm, who hadn't allowed an earned run in 27 consecutive appearances prior to Friday. After hitting .211 over the first couple months of the season, Santander has turned it on in June, hitting .273 with six home runs in 14 games. The switch-hitter now owns a .224-15-38-36-0 line with a .335 wOBA and 121 wRC+.
Baltimore Orioles outfielder/designated hitter Anthony Santander continued to heat up in Monday's 7-2 win over the Blue Jays, going 2-for-4 with a single, a two-run home run, and a strikeout. The 29-year-old pulled a second-inning Kevin Gausman fastball just over the right-field wall for his 11th HR of the season. Santander's power numbers for the season are as expected but his .223 batting average leaves something to be desired. Fortunately for fantasy managers, he has been heating up lately, batting .346 with a pair of homers in his last seven games. Hopefully, he can continue to run with his hot streak.
Baltimore Orioles outfielder/designated hitter Anthony Santander is getting a day off on Memorial Day on Monday against the visiting Boston Red Sox. It looks to be a normal day of rest for Santander, who has gone deep twice in the last four games. The 29-year-old switch-hitting Dominican outfielder has supplied nine home runs, 29 RBI and 25 runs scored in 179 at-bats this year, but he's hitting just .201 (36-for-179) with 40 strikeouts and a 19.9 percent strikeout rate in 201 plate appearances so far in 2024. Santander has fanned in almost half of his last 25 plate appearances. With Santander out on Monday, Kyle Stowers will start in right field and bat seventh against Red Sox right-hander Cooper Criswell. Stowers has three hits in his first 12 at-bats this year and is looking for his first home run in the big leagues since his rookie campaign in 2022.
