Houston Texans wide receiver Noah Brown (shoulder) is still recovering from labrum surgery on his shoulder for an injury that he suffered in the playoff game against the Cleveland Browns in January. However, the expectation is that he'll be ready for training camp at the end of July. Brown signed a one-year, $5 million maximum value deal in the offseason with $3 million guaranteed. As long as the 28-year-old pass-catcher doesn't suffer a setback in training camp or the preseason, he should be ready for Week 1 of the regular season. The former seventh-round pick of the Dallas Cowboys in 2017 out of Ohio State caught 33 passes for a career-high 567 yards and two touchdowns in 10 regular-season games (seven starts) in his first year in Houston, but he'll probably have a tough time replicating that in 2024 after Houston added Stefon Diggs to the WR room.
The Houston Texans have re-signed wide receiver Noah Brown to an undisclosed deal on Monday, according to a source. In his first year with the Texans in 2023, Brown put up 33 receptions on 55 targets for a career-high 567 receiving yards and two touchdowns in 10 regular-season games (seven starts). The 28-year-old wideout should be able to do more in a full season of play with impressive young quarterback C.J. Stroud throwing him passes, but Brown will also be behind Nico Collins and Tank Dell on the receiver depth chart. Brown probably won't be a draft target outside of deeper leagues this fall, but he'd be a very popular waiver-wire pickup if Collins or Dell were to miss extended time due to injuries in 2024.
Houston Texans wide receiver Noah Brown (shoulder) is being placed on Injured Reserve ahead of the team's Divisional Round game against the Baltimore Ravens or Kansas City Chiefs. The 28-year-old was on the injury report often this season with knee and back injuries, and he suffered a shoulder injury in the Wild Card win over the Cleveland Browns. Although Brown often played second or third-fiddle to Nico Collins and Tank Dell (leg), he delivered two games of over 150 receiving yards in 2023. Overall, Brown accumulated 33 receptions for 567 yards and two touchdowns in his first year as a Texan. He is a free agent this offseason. Moving forward, Collins, Robert Woods, John Metchie III, and Xavier Hutchinson will have to step up at wideout. Tight ends Dalton Schultz and Brevin Jordan will also be candidates to see more targets.
Houston Texans wide receiver Noah Brown (shoulder) has been downgraded to out during Saturday's playoff game against the Cleveland Browns. Brown was forced to exit during the first half of Saturday's game and officially won't return. He'll finish the night with zero receptions on one target. The Texans will now need to lean on fellow wideouts Nico Collins and Robert Woods for the rest of this contest. The team should give a better timetable on Brown's status following the game.
Houston Texans wide receiver Noah Brown (shoulder) is currently listed as questionable to return to Saturday's playoff matchup against the Cleveland Browns. This is a tough break for the Texans as Brown suffered a shoulder injury during the first quarter of this contest. The team will obviously further evaluate the severity of the issue before deciding if Brown can return. In the meantime, Nico Collins and Robert Woods figure to have bigger roles in the passing game for the Texans.
