Masyn Winn Sitting Out On Friday

St. Louis Cardinals shortstop Masyn Winn is out of the starting lineup ahead of Friday's game against the Cincinnati Reds. This appears to be nothing more than a routine rest day for Winn. The 22-year-old was banged up recently, but this looks like a regular rest day. Brandon Crawford will draw the start at shortstop and bat eighth versus right-hander Frankie Montas on Friday. Fantasy managers should adjust their lineups ahead of first pitch.

Masyn Winn Belts Game-Winning Home Run In Extra Innings

St. Louis Cardinals shortstop Masyn Winn went 2-for-6 and belted a game-winning two-run home run in the 12th inning of Monday night's extra-inning victory over the Miami Marlins. Wynn has been excellent in his sophomore season with a .295 batting average and a .339 OBP. The young shortstop only has eight stolen bases which is a little low considering he averaged over 30 stolen bases in his last three seasons combined. Hopefully, with the combination of his high batting average and OBP, he will get the green light more often moving forward. The counting stats right now are lagging a bit though which makes Winn more of a deep-league add or injury replacement than a must-start player at this time.

Masyn Winn Stays Hot In Loss

St. Louis Cardinals shortstop Masyn Winn went 3-for-3 with a walk and two-run homer in Tuesday's loss versus the Houston Astros. Winn's big performance raised his batting average to .309 on the season to go along with three homers, 21 RBI and eight stolen bases. The 22-year-old has really taken a step forward this season and the power is beginning to come around with all of his homers coming in the past 15 games. Over the past month, he has hit .358 and managers should consider his value at its peak for this season in redraft leagues, making him a good sell-high candidate. Winn will look to continue his hot streak when the Cardinals take on the Houston Astros and Ronel Blanco on Wednesday.
