Gunnar Henderson Extends On-Base Streak With Homer

Baltimore Orioles shortstop Gunnar Henderson stayed raging-hot in Wednesday afternoon's win over the visiting Cleveland Guardians, clubbing his 26th home run of the year. Henderson extended his on-base streak to 33 games with Wednesday's showing, first driving an RBI single into center field off Guardians right-hander Carlos Carrasco to bring home a run for the Orioles and tie the game in the second inning, and later tying the game at two as he crushed a solo homer to right-center field during the fifth frame. Over 95 at-bats in the month of June, the 22-year-old rising superstar is slashing .351/.447/.701 with eight big flies, 16 RBI, 28 runs scored, and six stolen bases. It's going to be fun watching Henderson and Aaron Judge jockey for the American League MVP Award this summer.

Gunnar Henderson Continues Strong Campaign

Baltimore Orioles shortstop Gunnar Henderson continued him MVP campaign on Thursday versus the division rival New York Yankees. Henderson went 3-for-5 with a walk, three runs and RBI in a 17-5 victory. Unlike Corbin Carroll in Arizona, there has been no sophomore slump for Henderson and if anything, the 22-year-old has improved off his notable rookie campaign. Henderson wasn't a first-round pick in drafts coming into the season, but he has returned top-10 value with a .279 batting average that is accompanied by 22 homers, 50 RBI and 12 stolen bases. Henderson continues to not only be valuable in redraft leagues, but should be an asset for years to come in dynasty leagues.

Gunnar Henderson Smacks Grand Slam Wednesday

Baltimore Orioles shortstop Gunnar Henderson smacked a grand slam on Wednesday night versus the Boston Red Sox, going 1-for-4 in a 6-1 victory. Henderson crushed his 18th home run on the season and has continued to provide plenty of power out of the leadoff spot for the Orioles. Despite his power consistency, his overall consistency with the bat has taken a huge dip in May, with a .218 batting average after batting a solid .280 in April. To this date, the 22-year-old has a modest .254 batting average, along with those 18 long balls, 41 RBI, and seven stolen bases on the season. If he can get that batting average back up into the .280 range or higher next month, Henderson should be right back at the top of the American League MVP race.
