His return comes after being benched the last two games for poor play. It has been a rough season for the 27-year-old, tallying just a .219-8-32-37-4 line with a .286 wOBA and an 86 wRC+. There aren't many reasons to think he'll turn it around, although for his career he's been somewhat more productive in the second half of the season, so perhaps this performance can be a springboard for his second half.

The recent slump has dropped his season slash line to .215/.294/.333, while the Venezuelan infielder has added seven home runs, 29 RBI, four stolen bases and 36 runs scored. DFS gamers looking for a cheap streamer could give Torres a try, but those in redraft leagues may want to keep Torres benched until he breaks out of his funk.

The 27-year-old should eventually return to the starting lineup this weekend, but fantasy managers may want to keep him on their benches until he shows some signs of life with the lumber.UPDATE: Manager Aaron Boone said "there's a good chance" that Torres is back in the lineup on Friday night.
