It's great news that he's feeling better and that his X-rays came back negative, but he'll get a day to rest on Friday. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now and check back to see if he's back in there for Saturday's game at Camden Yards. When active, the 26-year-old backstop is one of the most productive catchers in baseball. James McCann is doing the catching for right-hander Albert Suarez on Friday and will hit ninth against Rangers veteran right-hander Max Scherzer, who will be making just his second start of the season.

Following Thursday's effort, the 26-year-old former top prospect is slashing a rock-solid .300/.351/.479 with 15 long balls, 12 doubles, 55 RBI, and one stolen base over 317 at-bats (77 games) as Baltimore's everyday backstop. If Rutschman's hand swells up overnight and he can't continue to play through the problem, veteran James McCann would be in line for a spot start behind the plate as a potential DFS budget play on Friday against the Rangers.
