Philadelphia Phillies OVER 4.5 Runs

The Philadelphia Phillies are cooking on offense and are in a great spot to keep things going against Griffin Canning, who will get the ball for the Los Angeles Angels. Canning has coughed up 20 runs on 30 hits, including five home runs over 24 innings. He has a 79% contact rate and a 10.1 SwStr% over his five starts. Both marks are the worst of his career. It’s still early, but he’s not missing many bats and the Phillies have a bottom-10 K rate against RHP.

After a slow start to the season, the Phillies offense has caught fire of late. They enter this three-game series with the Angels having won four straight and have scored 27 runs over those four games. They’ve also scored at least five runs in 10 of their last 12 games. Since April 19, their 63 runs rank second in baseball (10 games).

Lefties are slashing .333/.371/.587 with a .409 wOBA against Canning. Four of the five homers he’s allowed and four of the six doubles he’s given up have been to lefties. I have a few MLB props below from lefty bats to consider. Kyle Schwarber, Bryce Harper and Brandon Marsh all have at least five home runs against RHP (16 total).
