GPP Line Stack Rankings

Colorado Avalanche Line 1

Valeri Nichushkin, Nathan MacKinnon, Mikko Rantanen (with Cale Makar)

This version of COL1 has been the best line on the ice throughout this series against the Jets. The only problem is that you really can’t afford to play them all in the same lineup. Even so, I think you can try some mini-stacks and maybe even get creative by leaving MacKinnon out of your stacks.  On top of that, I think Lehkonen plays enough with them to make him a viable option to pair with any of the COL1 players, and given how well Mittlestadt is playing, I don’t mind putting him in a COL1 heavy lineup, too.

Toronto Maple Leafs Line 2

William Nylander, John Tavares, Matthew Knies (with Morgan Rielly)

Absolute must-win situation in a super tough matchup for the Leafs, and they might have to do it without Auston Matthews. Just keep in mind that Matthews is flying to Boston with the team, and if I had to guess, he’s probably gonna play. With that said, I think the Leafs are going to call all out in order to bring the series back to Toronto, and if that’s going to happen, they’re going to need to lean on this line with Nylander and Tavares.

Boston Bruins Line 2

Brad Marchand, Charlie Coyle, Morgan Geekie

While I haven’t been too keen to target the Bruins very often this postseason, they need to be targeted if you’re playing multiple lineups. Monday night, we saw the Panthers capitalize on multiple empty net goals against a Lightning team that was in a win or go home situation. The team on the brink of elimination is going to be desperate to win the game, and that might mean pulling the goalie multiple times even with the game out of reach. You can take your pick at BOS1 and BOS2, but I think BOS2 is the most likely line to be on the ice in order to capitalize throughout the game.

Goalies

Remember, shots = saves = points, so I am generally very aggressive with my goalie choices. I want goalies who provide some sort of floor and a lot of upside due to the potential high shot volume.

Always check goalie status right before lock.
