The Best NHL Prop Bets

Sam Reinhart Over 2.5 SOG

(-143, DraftKings Sportsbook)

Reinhart was the only Florida player to register three shots on goal at 5v5 in Game 1 against Tampa Bay. He also finished second among forwards in ice time at 5v5 (15:09), which is exactly what you want to see when attacking shot props. The ice time is there for Reinhart at 5v5 and so far the attempts. Reinhart finished the game with six total shot attempts and five were on the net. The Panthers’ winger has at least three shots on goal in six straight games and 10 of his last 11. On the other side, Brayden Point was the only Lightning forward to register three shots at 5v5. Point finished the game with five shot attempts and four shots.

Bonus

  • Brayden Point O 2.5 SOG (-125, BetRivers)
  • Sam Reinhart, Alexsander Barkov Points SGP (-105, Bet365)

Artturi Lehkonen Over 2.5 SOG

(+140, BetRivers)

Lehkonen led all Colorado forwards with five shots on goals and six scoring chances at 5v5 in Game 1 in Winnipeg. He had six shot attempts at even strength and nine total, which ranked third on the team behind Cale Makar who had 12 and Nathan MacKinnon’s 11. Overall, Lehkonen finished the game with seven shots on goal in 20:27. Only MacKinnon, Mikko Rantanen and Valeri Nichushkin had more ice time than Lehkonen among the forward group. With no Jonathan Drouin, Lehkonen will get leaned on a bit more at all strengths, including the first power play. The trio of Lehkonen, Casey Mittelstadt and Valeri Nichushkin had a team-high 17 shot attempts, 12 shots and eight scoring chances at 5v5. They’ll get the easier matchups again in Game 2 with all of the focus for the Jets on Nathan MacKinnon’s line. Kyle Connor and Nikolaj Ehlers led the Jets with five attempts each at 5v5, and they had 13 combined at all strength (Connor had 7).

Bonus

  • Kyle Connor O 2.5 SOG (-145, DraftKings)
  • Gabriel Vilardi Point (-110,  DraftKings)
  • Nathan MacKinnon O 4.5 SOG (-125, DraftKings)
  • Valeri Nichushkin O 2.5 SOG (-118, BetRivers)
  • Nikolaj Ehlers O 2.5 SOG  (-120, DraftKings)
  • Kyle Connor, Mark Scheifele Points SGP (+115, Bet365)

Alexis Lafreniere Point

(-120, DraftKings Sportsbook)

Lafreniere picked up an assist in New York’s 4-1 win against Washington. His line with Artemi Panarin and Vincent Trocheck picked up where they left off in the regular season. This line was fantastic in Game 1 as they led all lines in the game with 14 shot attempts, eight shots (just one against), eight scoring chances and three high danger chances. Panarin led the way with six attempts, three scoring chances and four shots on goal. Lafreniere had four attempts and two shots, and his assist came at 5v5. Lafreniere has had a strong season, and I don’t want to take anything away from his career high 28 goals and 57 points, but this play is really about Panarin who finished the season with 120 points. The Rangers’ second line has played great all year long and Peter Laviolette gave those three forwards more ice time in Game 1 than any other group up front. Panarin had a team-high 10 shot attempts and seven shots in the win.

Bonus

  • Artemi Panarin O 3.5 SOG (-130, BetRivers)
  • Mika Zibanejad, Chris Kreider Points SGP (+110, Bet365)

Luke Evangelista O 2.5 SOG

(+124, DraftKings Sportsbook)

Evangelista had a very strong Game 1 in Vancouver, and he’s been very good for the Predators in the second half. The rookie forward had a team-high four shots at 5v5 in the 4-2 loss to the Canucks. He was the only Predator to have more than three shots at 5v5 and his four attempts were one behind Roman Josi for the team lead. He had five attempts overall and his five shots on goal paced Nashville. He also led the Preds with a 0.6 expected goals rate. The winger wrapped up his first full regular season with 20 shots on goal over his final four games, including 10 in one matchup. Evangelista averaged 2.7 shots per game over his final 30 games, compared to 1.8 over his first 50. Only the Predators’ top line picked up more minutes than Evangelista in Game 1. This kid has also played himself onto the No. 1 power play.

Bonus

  • Brock Boeser, J.T. Miller Points SGP (+130, Bet365)
  • Filip Forsberg, Roman Josi Points SPG (+100, Bet365)
