Tony Kemp Released By Twins

Minnesota Twins infielder/outfielder Tony Kemp has been released by the organization on Monday. Kemp decided to opt out of his deal with the Twins having a strong showing in the minors. Kemp is slashing .279/.358/.436 through 46 games with Triple-A St. Paul. He has bounced around quite a bit since his time in Oakland. Kemp might land elsewhere as a depth option but it's hard to imagine him having fantasy value on any organization.

Hunter Brown Tosses Six Scoreless Frames

Houston Astros starting pitcher Hunter Brown was impressive on the mound during Monday's game against the Toronto Blue Jays. The right-hander tossed six scoreless innings while allowing only two hits in the win. He struck out five batters while walking three along the way. Brown has allowed an unbelievable one run over his last five starts. He's having an up-and-down season but has been pitching extremely well as of late.

Jeffrey Springs Builds Up To Three Innings

Tampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Jeffrey Springs (elbow) saw a mixed bag of results during Friday's rehab outing with Triple-A Durham. The left-hander allowed three runs on five hits over three innings of work. Springs was hit around more than expected but he also struck out five batters during this outing. He threw a total of 45 pitches in what was his longest rehab outing yet. It sounds like Springs is making progress, but there is still some more work to do before being activated. The southpaw is recovering from Tommy John surgery, so the Rays aren't going to rush anything with Springs.
